Terms of Service

Last updated: April 15, 2026

Agreement to these Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website at www.donthiredevs.com(the "Site") operated by Salt Technologies and its DontHireDevsbrand ("Salt," "we," "us," or "our"). By browsing the Site, submitting forms, or subscribing to email, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, stop using the Site.

If you are using the Site on behalf of a company, you represent that you have authority to bind that company to these Terms, and "you" refers to both you and the company.

What these Terms cover (and what they do not)

These Terms cover the marketing website only: pages, copy, calculators, and forms that collect business contact information. They do not replace a signed statement of work, pilot agreement, master services agreement, or any other contract for engineering work, confidentiality, IP assignment, or fees.

If there is a conflict between anything on the Site and a signed agreement between you and Salt for delivery work, the signed agreement wins for that engagement.

Eligibility

The Site is aimed at adults acting in a business capacity. You may not use the Site if you are barred from receiving services under the laws of India, the United States, or your country of residence, or if you are on a restricted-party list that makes a commercial relationship illegal.

No accounts; submissions

We do not operate a customer login on this Site today. When you submit a pilot request, contact form, or newsletter signup, you authorize us to receive, store, and process the information you provide for the purposes described in our Privacy Policy.

You represent that information you submit is accurate to the best of your knowledge, that you will not impersonate another person or entity, and that you will not upload malware or abusive content through any field we provide.

Not professional advice

Materials on the Site (including pricing examples, comparisons, and playbooks) are for general information. They are not legal, tax, immigration, or employment advice for your jurisdiction. Rates, timelines, and capabilities on the Site are illustrative; a formal proposal or contract may differ.

Pilot and engineering engagements

Submitting a form does not obligate Salt to begin work, match an engineer, or extend credit. Any free or paid pilot, dedicated engineer lease, or managed engagement requires mutual agreement in writing (including electronic signature where we allow it), clear scope, and any prerequisites we communicate (for example security review or background checks where required by your policy or ours).

Nothing on the Site guarantees a particular hiring outcome, velocity, or business result. Engineering work carries inherent technical risk; your agreement with us should define acceptance criteria, change control, and exit terms.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Violate applicable law or infringe third-party rights.
  • Harass, threaten, or defame our staff, contractors, or other visitors.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, our infrastructure, or related systems (including credential stuffing, bypassing rate limits, or exploiting bugs).
  • Reverse engineer or decompile the Site except to the limited extent expressly permitted by law.
  • Scrape, harvest, or bulk-download Site content in a way that degrades performance or circumvents technical controls, without prior written permission.
  • Use the Site to distribute malware, spam, or deceptive communications.

We may suspend or block access, remove submissions, or cooperate with authorities if we reasonably believe you have violated these rules or pose a security risk.

Third-party links and embeds

The Site may reference or embed third-party services (for example scheduling, video, or social links). Those services are governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party content, availability, or data practices.

Intellectual property

The Site, including its design, text, graphics, logos, icons, selection and arrangement, and underlying code, is owned by Salt or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. "DontHireDevs" and related marks are trademarks of Salt or its affiliates. Third-party names may be used for factual comparison; we do not claim any endorsement by those third parties.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and view the Site for your internal business evaluation. No other rights are granted. You may not copy large portions of the Site into a competing property, train a public model on our proprietary copy where restricted by law, or remove proprietary notices.

If you believe content on the Site infringes your copyright, email pilots@donthiredevs.com with enough detail for us to locate the material and evaluate your claim.

Feedback

If you send us suggestions, ideas, or feedback about the Site or our model, you grant Salt a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use that feedback for any purpose without obligation to you, except where prohibited by law.

Disclaimer of warranties

THE SITE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SALT AND ITS AFFILIATES DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, QUIET ENJOYMENT, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS, OR THAT CONTENT WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers; in those jurisdictions, our warranties are limited to the extent permitted by law.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL SALT OR ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SITE, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SITE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD $100) OR (B) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US SPECIFICALLY FOR SITE-RELATED SERVICES IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO LIABILITY—WHICH WILL OFTEN BE ZERO FOR VISITORS WHO ONLY BROWSE OR SUBMIT FORMS.

Because some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct where the law does not permit that limitation.

Indemnity

You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Salt and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Site, your submissions, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of third-party rights.

Disputes; governing law; venue

Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at pilots@donthiredevs.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least thirty (30) days.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles that would require application of another jurisdiction's laws. Subject to applicable mandatory rules, you agree that state and federal courts located in Delaware have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from or related to these Terms or the Site.

General

Electronic communications. You consent to receive communications from us electronically (for example email responses to forms).

Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, corporate reorganization, or sale of assets.

Force majeure. We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, including internet or hosting outages, acts of government, natural disasters, or labor disputes.

Severability; waiver. If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.

Entire agreement. These Terms (together with the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy where referenced) are the entire agreement between you and Salt regarding the Site. They replace any prior oral or written understandings on the same subject.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes may also be highlighted on the Site or in email where appropriate. Your continued use of the Site after changes go live constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms, except where your consent is required by law.
