4 Steps to Your First Engineer

From a 15-minute call to a developer in your Slack — here's the full picture.

Tell Us What You Need

You don't need to write a 5-page JD. We hop on a quick call to understand your stack, your sprint cadence, and your team culture.

We don't just look at keywords. We ask about your codebase, your testing philosophy, and how you communicate. Fit matters more than a resume — we find the person who actually "gets" your workflow.

We Match in 72 Hours

We hand-pick 1–2 developers from our internal bench at Salt Technologies. No marketplace lotteries.

Every developer we present has already cleared our 5-stage vetting process. These aren't random contractors; they are full-time employees of our parent firm with proven track records. You get a curated profile and a breakdown of exactly why they fit your specific project.

14-Day Free Pilot

Hiring offshore developers shouldn't be a leap of faith. Your matched developer joins your Slack and starts shipping real code.

This is the ultimate trust mechanism. They join your standups, pull from your Jira, and push to your repo. If they aren't a perfect fit by Day 14, walk away. You keep the code, pay us nothing, and we part as friends. No contracts signed until you're 100% convinced.

Scale Your Team

Once the pilot proves the value, the developer stays on as a dedicated team member.

We hate "lock-in" as much as you do. Need to add a second engineer next month? Easy. Need to pause for a quarter? No problem. Your team, your pace, with no annual contracts hanging over your head.

Why This Works

No Resumes. Real Work.

Stop reading PDFs and start reading PRs. You evaluate our talent based on the code they ship during your pilot, not how well they interview.

Your Tools, Your Workflow.

We don't use "project portals." Our developers live in your Slack, your GitHub, and your Linear. They are an extension of your team, not a siloed vendor.

Backed by 14+ Years of Delivery.

DontHireDevs is the agile arm of Salt Technologies. We bring the same ISO-certified standards used by Ferrero, Nestlé, and Siemens to the startup world.

Transparent Pricing, Always.

No "black box" agency margins. You'll know exactly what the developer earns and exactly what our management fee is. Simple.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens after the 14-day pilot?+

If you love the work, the developer continues seamlessly and the engagement converts to a paid monthly contract starting from Day 15. If not, we part ways and you owe nothing.

Do I need to sign a contract before the pilot?+

Just a lightweight 2-page pilot agreement covering mutual NDA and IP assignment — designed to be reviewable in 10 minutes without involving your legal team. The full MSA only comes into play if you choose to continue after Day 14.

What if I'm not happy with the developer?+

During the pilot, you can swap for a different match or cancel immediately. After the pilot, we have a "no-drama" replacement policy and 30-day exit terms.

How do you vet your developers?+

We don't use freelancers. Our team consists of full-time employees of Salt Technologies who have passed a rigorous 5-stage vetting process including live coding, architectural reviews, and communication testing.

What tech stacks do you support?+

We specialize in modern stacks: React, Node.js, Python, Angular, and Laravel, plus UI/UX design and QA engineering. If it's a mainstream web or mobile stack, we have the bench for it.

How does timezone overlap work?+

Our developers are based in Pune, India (IST, UTC+5:30). They work flexible schedules to ensure 4–6 hours of daily overlap with US Eastern Time — covering your morning standups and collaborative working hours.

Who owns the IP and the code?+

You do. 100%. All code shipped during the pilot and beyond is your intellectual property.

What's included in the management fee?+

Everything: payroll, local taxes, hardware, office space, and benefits. You get one simple invoice; we handle the rest.
