Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 15, 2026

Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the public marketing website at www.donthiredevs.com(the "Site") operated by Salt Technologies and its DontHireDevsbrand ("Salt," "we," "us," or "our"). It does not apply to third-party sites we link to, or to engineering delivery under a separate contract (that relationship is governed by your agreement with us and any statements there).

The Site is intended for company representatives evaluating dedicated offshore engineering capacity. If you use the Site on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to share business contact information with us.

Who we are

DontHireDevsis a marketing brand for Salt Technologies, an engineering company based in Pune, Maharashtra, India. For privacy requests, contact us at the email in the "Your rights and contact" section below. We will respond within a reasonable time and in line with applicable law.

Information we collect

We collect information in three broad ways: (1) what you submit in forms, (2) what you provide for the newsletter, and (3) technical data generated when you load pages or hit our APIs.

Pilot and lead forms. When you request a pilot or submit a general inquiry through our Site, we collect the fields you fill in. That typically includes your name, work email, company name, company website, role or topic of interest, seniority, technology stack (where applicable), and any optional message or notes. Exact fields may change as we update forms; we only collect what the form asks for at submission time.

Newsletter. If you subscribe in the footer, we collect the email address you enter. That signup is separate from pilot inquiries unless you use the same address in both places.

Technical and usage data. Our hosting provider, application logs, and security tooling may process data such as IP address, approximate location derived from IP, browser type and version, device type, referring URL, pages viewed, timestamps, and request metadata. We use this to operate, secure, and debug the Site and to detect abuse or fraud.

We do not ask for government IDs, payment card numbers, or health data on this Site. Do not submit sensitive personal information in free-text fields unless we explicitly ask for it.

How we use information (purposes)

  • Respond to you: route pilot and contact submissions to our team, follow up by email or phone, and prepare proposals or scoping conversations.
  • Operate the Site: deliver pages, process API requests, fix errors, and measure reliability.
  • Send email: internal notifications to our team (for example via Resend), and transactional or relationship email to you where appropriate.
  • Newsletter: send the emails you signed up for. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • Security and compliance: protect against malicious activity, enforce our terms, and meet legal, tax, or regulatory obligations where they apply.
  • Business operations: limited internal reporting (for example volume of inquiries by region) in aggregated or pseudonymous form where possible.

We do not sell your personal information in the conventional sense (no data broker exchanges for money). We do not use automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects solely based on profiling for Site visitors.

Legal bases (EEA, UK, and similar jurisdictions)

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on one or more of the following:

  • Legitimate interests in operating the Site, responding to business inquiries, securing our systems, and growing our B2B practice, balanced against your rights.
  • Contract or pre-contract steps when processing is necessary to respond to a request that may lead to an engagement.
  • Consent where we ask for it (for example marketing newsletter where consent is the appropriate basis in your country).
  • Legal obligation where we must retain or disclose records.

How we share information

We share personal information only with service providers and parties who need it to help us run the Site or our business, under appropriate confidentiality and data processing terms where required:

  • Supabase (database): may store lead records in PostgreSQL when our environment is configured.
  • Resend (email): may send notification emails to our team and may address email to you when we configure it.
  • Slack or similar: if we configure a webhook, a short summary of a new lead may post to an internal channel for triage.
  • Hosting and infrastructure: for example Vercel or comparable providers that host the Site and edge logs.
  • CRM or sales tooling: we may sync limited business contact data into internal systems to track conversations. If we do, that processing is covered by our agreements with those vendors.

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental request, or to establish or defend legal claims. If Salt is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, information may transfer as part of that transaction subject to standard confidentiality protections.

International transfers

Salt Technologies is located in India. Subprocessors such as email and database providers may process data in the United States, the European Union, India, or other regions where they operate data centers.

When we transfer personal data from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland to countries not deemed adequate by the relevant authority, we use appropriate safeguards such as the EU Commission-approved Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK Addendum where applicable), or another lawful transfer mechanism.

Retention

We retain lead and newsletter data for as long as needed to evaluate opportunities, communicate with you, maintain our relationship, and meet bookkeeping, tax, or legal retention requirements. Operational logs are typically kept for a shorter rolling window unless needed for a security investigation.

When retention periods end, we delete or anonymize data where feasible, subject to backup systems that may retain copies for a limited additional period before overwriting.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the data we handle on the Site (primarily business contact data). No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure; we encourage you to use a corporate email and avoid sharing credentials in web forms.

Your rights and contact

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, to withdraw consent where processing is consent-based, and to receive a portable copy of data you provided (where technically feasible). You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

California residents (CPRA summary): California law may grant you rights to know, delete, and correct personal information, and to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" as those terms are defined in California. We do not knowingly sell personal information of minors under 16. To submit a request, email pilots@donthiredevs.com with a clear description of the right you wish to exercise. We will verify commercial inquiries to a reasonable degree; we may need additional information to process certain requests.

All privacy requests: email pilots@donthiredevs.com with "Privacy request" or your jurisdiction in the subject line. We may need to confirm you control the email address in question before we act on deletion or access requests.

Newsletter: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or email the same address and ask to be removed from the list.

Children

The Site is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe we have collected information from a child, contact us and we will delete it promptly where required by law.

Third-party links

The Site may link to LinkedIn, calendars, or partner pages. Those services have their own privacy notices. We are not responsible for their practices.

Changes

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our Site, vendors, or legal requirements. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it was last revised. Continued use of the Site after we post changes constitutes your acknowledgment of the updated policy, where permitted by law.
